Description: I blog regularly for the Health At Every Size® Blog and serve as the Public Policy Chair for ASDAH. My research and writing areas of interest include healthism, health policy, workplace wellness, and embodiment. My background as an attorney informs my advocacy work; I am deeply interested in how health policy needs to be modified to promote weight inclusivity and remove barriers to health for all. I served on the Advisory Board of the HAES® Curriculum and the Editorial Board of the Fat Studies Journal. When I have time for it, my private practice as a health educator focuses on HAES and body acceptance. I work with individuals who want to leave diets behind and learn how to love their bodies unconditionally. My workshops and support groups focus on holistic approaches to normalized eating, embodied learning and meditation, and body image. I emphasize embodiment work as a pathway to body peace. Finally, as Program Chair of the MA in Health Education Program at JFK University in Pleasant Hill, CA, the courses I teach and the way I talk about health with my students are deeply informed by the HAES® approach.
